Modern autoboxes are usually problem-free until around 200k kilometers (plus minus 50k, depending on driving style), so I guess there are too few F48s over that mileage for us to know. It is good, though. Smooth and quick (when in sport).

In my youth as a motor tech I repaired Autoboxes fitted to Fords. I was on a Borg Warner 35 course at Fords and one test was to connect an oil pressure gauge to the main gallery and with the brakes fully applied and accelerator to the floor you then measured the oil pressure which should be around 150 psi. You were only allowed 30 secs to do this check as the heat generated was quite phenomenal. The instructor said this box has had this treatment for several months over the scheduled courses and was still performing perfectly.
He maintained they were stronger than any manual box.
