Engage electronic handbrake when car is turned off

I picked up my X2 yesterday and there’s a few things new to me with regards to its automatic transmission. Is there a way to engage the electronic handbrake automatically every time the car is turned off? If not, is it a problem if I don’t engage the handbrake manually before leaving the car (assume parking on a flat road, not anywhere hilly)

I used to drove Alfa Romeo Stelvio and it would put the handbrake everytime I turned off the car. It put my mind at ease.

Thanks for any hints!

Not a problem at all. I hardly ever engage mine, though I do switch it on every once in a while so things don't get sticky.

I never put on the parking brake. When it’s in park the automatic transmission is locked anyway. I might possibly use it if I was parked on a hill but other than that, I never use it.

It automatically engages on an incline

So how is this defeated?

I have a need to occasionally tow my x2 on a dolly. The owner's manual shows (for S-Drive models) that it's acceptable to be towed with the front wheels off the ground.

I don't see anywhere in the manual where it says exactly when the auto parking brake engages (what circumstances) nor do I see in the manual how to defeat it, such as when the car will be getting towed with front wheels off the ground.
