I used to wear contacts some years ago. Never really liked them and tried different kinds. I just stick to glasses. It's easier for me. If I want to take them off and give my eyes a little rest, or if I have an itch or something in my eye. Just easier for me to put them on and take them off. No hassle, simple. Easy to wash glasses every couple of days. At least I tried them. They're just not for me.

Left contact get dropped/cleaned several times before lens makes contact with my eye. Once contact is made with eye, BOOM, FIRE!!!! The cleaning solution was peroxide based. I'm new to this/stupid. Had no clue this would happen. After an agonizing morning and a trip to the optometrist, new contacts ordered, a script for eyedrops has been procured, left eyeball is burned, and no contacts for a week.

Learn from my mistake. If you use peroxide based cleaning solution, do not put a contact lens with that shit on it in your eye. I have the worst case of Forrest Whitaker eye ever.
I confess that you'd given wifey a chuckle, she uses lenses since decades and had just stood behind me as I was reading this.

My tax guy says the IRS made things so much more complicated this year that he has to file for an extension for a day or so. *pours a double*

No way man, opposite trust is an elementary element of relationship. I would never touch her mobile unless I'd asked before. Have no reason to doubt and do more delicate posts when im alone

The ladies at the optometrist had a good chuckle at my expense as well yesterday. Nothing like 3 ladies standing over you chuckling with you whilst delivering "poor baby" syndrome. I didn't mind.

King Rudi the H2O2 bottles are all bright red trimmed, with warnings not to use in your eyes

Now, if you want some REAL fun once you get your lens back, spend a little time de-seeding chile peppers, or even slicing jalapenos/habaneros, THEN take out your lens. That will be just a slight taste of what awaits you the next morning when you go to insert your lens

I too use that Clean/Clear with the little bottles and some sort of chemical reaction that converts the H2O2. I used to have a horrible time with protein build-up on the lens, and rings on my cornea. Now, I wear them 3 weeks at default, and rarely notice.

I got my first pair in 1982 #whippersnapper

There was one annual checkup at the optometrist when I overheard a lady talking about her visit. She's come in because her "contact lenses were bothering her eyes".

The doc found that she was wearing the lenses overnight, forgetting that she had them, and putting on new lenses over the old ones in the morning. #facepalm

You know what happens when you accidently confound and apply the liniment for rheumatism at your schlong instead of intimate care and this is caused by presbyopia?

Yes, I am an idiot at times. This was covered in my original post, but thank you for reiterating.

I've been down the road of accidental capsaicin irritations.....ghost chili's. At the time I was unaware that capsaicin would react with ANY mucous membranes. Without going into details, the ex-wife was less than pleased. I don't feel that I need to elaborate here.

I saw that before and it amazed me. How could a person, whether they're young or old, not know they had 27 contact lenses in their eye? Unbelievable!

The weird and wonderful things you discover when conducting an exam. Like the one we had, who complained of hearing loss. Both my colleague and I could not see her tympanic membrane. We did a warm water lavage and out came a compacted wad of cotton balls. She had complained to her own doctor of an ear infection but we can only "guesstimate" that he/she forgot to tell he to remove them after each treatment...And the things we find in other cavities....

You mean objects that find there way into said cavities by falling on them?

Years ago I read about a guy who went to an ER with a shattered lightbulb in his rectum. Would've loved to have heard the story he told them of how it got there. lol

Having been blessed with very good eyesight my entire life I cannot fathom something like that in my eye. Even getting an eyelash in my eye drives me crazy.

I can relate. I wore contacts some years ago and never got used to it. Wore them for about a year before I went back to glasses. Some people don't mind them, though. Actually, it seems like lots of people don't mind them.

When I was a whippersnapper some guy came in through the ER who had aspirated a fentanyl patch because he tried to smoke it.
