Pay per mile car insurance?

I've heard of Metromile. Anything else similar or better for low mileage driving?

I don't drive much now since my work allows me to be more mobile. I only put about 200 miles a month in my 2019 X3. I also have a new Kia Niro that I drive a lot, and that has full coverage State farm.

You can always tell them your mileage and they will lower the rate below X number of miles per year.

Of course, they will want your odo every year to ensure you are telling the truth.

Agree with Okie, I did the same thing with my current auto insurance. Let them know my 2 M cars are both very low mileage vehicles around 1k miles a year on each one. I have to report my odometer on a email link so very easy but saved a lot of money. I rounded mileage to 2k miles a year for each car....just in case. Dropped my rate on the E92 to $42 a month and the E46 to $40 a month. And that’s with maxed out coverage.

Doesn't Volvo now include insurance with your car payment?
I've told my insurance my estimated mileage on my "leisure" vehicle too but it didn't save that much money. $20 a month if that.

If you do their rental program. Which is crazy expensive.

All-State has milewise. It does the same thing. Plug it into the obd2.

I switched to it 3 months ago. I'm savings over $100 a month on 2 cars.

But only certain states (US) allow it.

CAA up here in Canada has a subscription based full coverage insurance. $300 for the year which includes 1,000kms. Additional 1,000km lots is $80.

Cheap for someone like my wife who just runs errands to groceries, Walmart etc.
