A Look Back at Chris Harris Driving Some of BMW's Best - 1M, M2, Alpina, F10 M5

Here's Chris Harris driving some of the best machinery BMW's M division has ever cooked up. First off it's a side-by-side comparison of the BMW M2 and the little-but-mighty 1M, followed by the F10 rear-wheel-drive M5 and some glorious old Alpinas...

This poor guy! But he's one of my favorites. Of course this may be due to his fan boy persona of my car.

He's one of the few that actually loved the F80! And I tend to agree

He's become a bit of a caricature on Top Gear, but if you dig out his previous videos on 'Drive' you can only appreciate he - as we say here in the UK - 'knows his onions'. Really rate him.

Interesting that he says the OG is a real M car when comparing it to the 1M but then says he wouldn't call it fit for track duty in the M2C review

He straight up hit the nail on the head with his assessment of the steering on the M2; it's noticeably better than the M3/4 but those of us who've driven the likes of the E82, E90s etc. we know it's a far cry from how telepathic the steering was on those models.

But overall the M2 is a very enjoyable car by modern standards. Easily one of the best EPS racks I've experienced alongside the Giulia and ATS. If the 3-series had steering like that it would be the perfect car.

Yeah I must have watched these two about 10 times

His comments from 5:40 through to about 7:00 on the GC one sold me on the M6

He knows his stuff - and boy can he actually drive...

I never tire of watching the slo-mo drifting sequences in his earlier online videos.
