No, going from halogen to any LED bulb will require coding to work properly.

Will the bimmercode app with a bluetooth dongle work for coding the reverse/brake/rear turn lights to LED or would I need some other software?

The Bimmercode App will be able to code all those lights to LED.

This or Carly app can do it. I personally also used BimmerCode. Without coding, you'll get hyper flashing on start up.

As a note, be aware that you may need to modify the low beam retaining clips to clear the heat sink, depending on the bulb's housing design. Both the Nineo and Hikari sets could not be secured without modifying the metal retaining clip.

High beam should be less of a concern as there's no clip to deal with.

Could you please share a link for the Hikari and Nineo? Do these require the error eliminating connectors?

Could you elaborate how you modified the clips? Pictures by chance?

Thanks!

The Nineos are no longer available. Link to the Hikaris: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

I only re-coded the lights using Bimmercode; no additional connectors.

No pictures available. The modification will make more sense if you remove the metal clips. The clip curves at the very end into a 90 degree bend. I just straightened only the 90 bend part so it was completely flat in order for the heatsink housing to clear.

Thanks for clarifying. Having done the install, what do you think of this newer Hikari: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09VMGYVJH/

I notice the one you linked doesn't include the error free canbus, but this one does. Do you think I'll need it or will coding bimmercode be enough?

My main concern would be heatsink clearance, which is unknown until you buy it. Amazon is pretty generous with their return policy if you want to take the chance.

Coding alone should do the trick. If my non-canbus LEDs work, I think the ones you found should too with coding.
