I am thinking of replacing our 2017 M125i hatch with an X2.

I really like the power of the 125i, which is 170kw / 227hp.
I also like the M-Sports big brakes - I just like the look of BBK for some reason.

So, I was going to get a X2 M35i, but I don't really like the bucket seats, my son on his limited license won't be allowed to drive it for a few months and we don't really need another performance car.

I didn't want to get the X2 20i, because here in Australia, it's 'only' got 140kw / 187hp. Not a big deal, but I feel like I am going backwards.
I also don't like the 7 speed DCT as much as the 8 speed ZF for the kind of driving that we do.
Plus, it's only front drive - it's been 20 years since I owned a front drive only car (Honda Accord)
And then there's the brakes...

Anyone know if you can upgrade the standard brakes to these ?

+ for the M35i - looks, power, sound, LSD, HK sound, brakes
+ for the 20i - save some money, seats are more practical

I kind of feel that if I just get the X2 20i, it's not really an upgrade - true or false?

Agreed. We were initially going to get base model X2 ourselves but after driving the M35i it was a no brainer to go that route instead. Just a better driving experience and more enjoyable over all.

here in Australia, I don't think we can delete the sports seats at all.

I sat in them and they were pretty comfortable.

now I am thinking of getting white with red - not 100% sure about red, black is kind of boring...

I have the magma red with gray, stealth on the outside, party on the inside. I like the color but at least to my old eyes and my adult children it looks more orange than red. either way it looks good and i like the sport seats. I have some pictures posted somewhere on here i think

We don't have the M35 version in China so you guys are so lucky to have this option available. The highest output here is only. 2.0T which at 190hp. I definitely will get the M35 if available location. For now can only settled with the 2.0 Xdrive.
