Always hand washed by me in the past 10 years.

Only when I lived in Canada did I use touchless washes during winter, but only for the winter beater.

Having xpel and ceramic over that, it makes things easier to just use a neutral car wash and dry with pressured air. And then a instant detailer after.

95% of the time hand wash, only use one of the nicer automatics that has guys hand finish in the winter. Nothing gets it as clean as hand an I can tell

I tried handwashing myself once and realized it takes up way too much of my time... so now I just run it through a brushless wash and carry some microfiber towels with me to properly dry it afterwards.

Perfect timing. I go to the hand car wash, but I can only get there on the weekends (it's close to home, not work) and it has to be when they first open or you wait forever and ever. Winter sucks though. The weekends have been way too cold. I used to cave and go through the car wash by work when I had my square winter set up just to get all the salt off. It is a hand wash, but a drive through with tracks. Right now, I'm so dirty, it's embarrassing. I can't go through the car wash with the 2022 on these low profile tires (21s) as the tracks will rip apart the wheels.

I've been searching for a mobile service close to work but haven't found anything.

My DG hid a lot of sins but the MBB shows everything.

Depends. I rarely go through automatic wash because all the ones I’ve used suck. I usually buy all my cars used so they come pre-dinged and pre-chipped so I’m not too anal about it. I also try to get colors that don’t show swirls much. Still I enjoy washing the cars (not the truck) so I do it myself 99% of the time. When we were traveling in the truck it would get washed wherever I could. Typically one of those DIY bays with power washer and brush.

Can’t comment on winter as I have not had to deal with washing anything when it’s freezing out.

BOOO you stink.

jk. With all this snow and salt, I've been hand washing my car at work every Friday since I get off early.

I'd kill myself if I ran my car through a brush wash. All those swirl marks man.

I don't use a touchless since I applied a "ceramic" coating over the paint back on march.

I have my cars coated also and I find it makes washing them pretty easy. I don’t use 2 buckets or any of that shit. I don’t let them get that dirty so usually I can do the cars with a couple of passes. One side of the mitt for the top side and the other side for bottom and done. I use my air dryer to blow the car dry. If I’m in the mood I will go over it with some ceramic boost detailer.

I should clarify. The guy who applied my ceramic coating washes my car once a month for $60. But in between I use the touchless wash.

I go to a self service coin-op car wash just a few blocks from my house and then drive home and use a leaf blower to dry it. Also have a detailer come to the house a couple times a year.

PS - use a mf towel on door jambs, trunk, etc. after blowing it dry.

I don't hand wash because I have very hard water where I am, so every place I *might* miss during the wipe-down ends up being a big white water spot. So even though I do the jambs, under-hood, trunk, wheel-well edges, and exhaust tips every single time, I'm sure I'd miss something.

Luckily I live 1.7 miles from a car wash, so I pressure wash it there, then drive it home and wipe it off with a wet terrycloth towel. This has worked brilliantly for years because I spend quite a while making sure the car is completely clean before I leave the wash, and the road home is clean and short.

Take into account that my car never really gets dirty, so there is never any need for a real wash with a mitt and such. And coupled with the fact that most of my car is covered in PPF, and the rest of it is always waxed, it works.

ohhhh I've been thinking about getting a legit ceramic coating.

But, it cost like $1800 for a lifetime ceramic coating. That included a 2 step paint correction etc.

Not sure if it's worth it for a 13 year old car

I used to hand/powerwash religiously but it's a hassle since I always live in condos and even though I have one of those powerwash+water bucket attachment it's still a pain to lug it, find a power outlet and get my extension cord. During winter it's pointless unless the car's super dirty, then I just go to some touchless carwash.

I find the touchless car wash doesn't do a very good job, so I pick a wash with brushes and just send 'er. Then again, I now drive a pickup, so I care a whole lot less.

When I had the S6, I was known to handwash a number of times, wax, polish, etc.

A lot of “lazerwash” places by me are touchless washes.

I’m lucky to have hot and cold water in my garage so I handwash.
Pressure washer to foam it. Hand wash with a bucket. Pressure washer to rinse. Leaf blower to dry.

They're shite, and the power they use has to be worse than the brushes. I drive an old car so I just need the salt and other shit off so i run it through the brush wash.

Thing is though, try finding one. They are always JAMMED TO THE FUCKING GILLS. You can easily wait for 40 minutes to et your turn, it is absolutely insane.

Ya, you guys are right, touchless doesn't do a great job and last time I went I waited FOREVER. I actually don't care anymore and may just use a reg carwash if need be.
