Ok, so I finally installed them. Chargepipe was a PITA because it's so tight. BTW, answering my own question, the shiny 'aluminum' part goes to the Throttle Body.

Boostpipe was easier than expected. Of course, you need to remove a lot of things, but I even removed it without cutting it. One important tip, be careful with the location of the screws, otherwise, the underhood shield won't close properly.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks for this post & pictures jrveron! I'm waiting for my aFe intake to arrive before I try to tackle this project.

You're welcome! Let me know if you have any questions or need some guidelines.

About the aFe intake, which one did you buy? I was looking at this: https://afepower.com/afe-power-54-12...-intake-system.

Right now, I have a K&N CAI, but it's open, so it's sucking hot air too. The aFe looks excellent because you can also put a lid on top to close it completely.

I decided to get the "Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Cold Air Intake System w/Pro DRY S Filter Media" with the intake cover for the very reason you mentioned, avoiding the hot air.

Ah, too bad I didn't see this thread.

I have already ordered the CTS Turbo one. (P.S Just realized that the CTS Turbo is the only one that will fit my newer sensor. So, all good)

https://www.ctsturbo.com/product/cts...38-b48-intake/

When you get it, please make a video of the intake with both the cover on and off!

FTP

I am doing the intake pipes, but am missing the couplers and clamps with the shipment. My buddies at IND Distribution are taking car of it for me. I am going to order the charge pipe kit, too. Might do a YouTube for intake pipe install as I see none specific to the X1.

Be advised that the FTP intake pipe (i.e., from the air filter to the turbo) doesn't come with the metal clip that holds it to the turbo, so you need to reuse the stock one. Although, it should come with a coupler and 2 clamps to join the two intake aluminum parts.

BTW, don't forget to check this thread: https://f48.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1880247

I uploaded several photos and manuals on how to install it, just in case you need some guidance.

Reviving once again

Just ordered the FTP intake, charge and boost pipe, along with BMS B48 Billet Intake and RaceChip GTS. Can't wait to install it all! I'll try to post some photos once done!

Now time to research some downpipe and/or full exhaust options!

edit:

Well it took about 6 hours to install it all! Can't believe how much more you can here the turbo spool! As far as the RC GTS, not sure I am impressed that much. Should have went with a JB4.
