I used this method everything was fairly easy including modification of switch. Great free upgrade !

I was going to set off to do this today for fun, but poking around I see a lot of discrepancy and I haven't decided which way to go:

e30lover318i has a link to the F30 forums which is "easier" since there's less lines:

FEM_BODY / 3060 LCEMaster 1C / NSL_Verbaut = Verbaut

REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output = nsl_l
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_Function = nebelschlusslicht
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output = nsl_l
REM / 3063 LCELampMapping 2 / Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_Function = nebelschlusslicht

However, I just popped into the X1 forums being a little newer, and there's a ton more lines and different "Modules" to code.

X1 Forum
Activate rear fog lights with light control switch with rear fog light switch (must have switch):

Code 1:
BDC_Body: -->

1) 3068 --> NSL_Verbaut = Verbault
2) 3064 --> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_Output --> NSL_L (hex 1C)
3) 3064 --> " " _L_function --> nebelschlusslicht
(hex 0E)
4) 3064 --> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_Output --> NSL_R (HEX 1D)
5) 3064 --> " " _R_function --> nebelschlusslicht
(hex 0E)
6) 3064 --> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_PWM1 --> 87
7) 3064 --> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_PWM1 --> 87

So, which way to go? Sounds like both methods work, but I'm not sure which to choose. I don't see myself using it too much, but every time I say that I get a nice misty yucky day and I was thinking.. I should do this.. haha.

So I had a few moments before I went to work today and I coded in the rear fogs. I did step 1,2 only :"maybe"step 3 ...4 onwards? were already defaulted to the correct setting...

The switch part took me a few seconds because I already had my dremel on my work bench, so popping that button out and shaving it down took me a fraction of the time that I had to wait while bimmercode was loading

While I was at it I coded the sport + option onto the car. I like this guy and his video, so I'll plug it:

Body Domain Controller
Expert Mode
3221 PfFesMaster
FesHasMode 5
Change it to aktiv
And boom.

Okay so this is my observations of the Sport +. Do you really need it? Well nah not really, but so far I believe it acts very similarly to my sport + mode on my E60 5 series.

1) Yes it changes the rpm shift points.. it's somewhere in between regular sports mode and the sports mode with the shift lever to the left. So that means not as aggressive as the lever to the left, more aggressive than just sport mode.

2) It says it turns off DTC. The lights and warnings don't display anywhere, but it pretty much says it is going to do it.

3) Your car will now be "locked" or "limited" to 7th gear. It will not go past that gear on the highway. I can confirm this by just cruising and watching the rpm jump up/down a little bit as I fiddle with the modes and then put it into manual mode.. top gear is 7th.

All and all it's another nifty toy that's now coded into my car. I'll probably use the sport + mode in the snow/local driving and just for overall fun/boredom. For those that don't know, in the heavy snow it is a good idea to turn off the DTC so that the wheels won't just stop spinning when you hit a slushy/icy spot when turning or doing general putting around in the snow. I usually manually shift myself and turn off DTC.. but then turn on all the safety nannies when I hit smooth open road/highway.

Thanks for the tip for sport+! Worked. It was much easier to find on my last car F30.

Can I code to make my fog lights turn on automatically when headlights turn on? Or do I have to press the button every time?

Thanks for the Sport+ info. Just coded it. Also did the fog lights ok with parking lights finally. Also a lot of people don't like rear DRLs but I like them and turned them on.

Lots of good info in here. We pick up the X2 M-Sport this afternoon. We are down sizing from a 2020 X6M50i that was loaded out to the max. I know the first the the wife is going to say is. The mirrors don't fold in when I lock it. LOL
