will using "not BMW approved" tires void warranty
I have not-RFT winter tires mounted, should I change back to "approved" tires before I bring the car to dealer for checking a possible suspension issue?

No, they cannot and will not void your warranty due to your winter tires not being "BMW approved". I personally think the "BMW Approved" tire thing is a money making scheme. I've owned BMWs for the past 12 years and some of the best tires I've had on them aren't "BMW approved".

I do not know if its different between Uk and USA but in UK they can be difficult on warrantee claims on transmission on X drive models if BMW * tyres are not used. Also the relative tread depth on tyres can be important., both overall and on same axle.

While "non-approved tires" will not void a warranty, using a tire and rim that is not the same specification as the assorted combinations that the vehicle comes with could result in a suspension or drive train warranty claim being denied.
It's not all unicorns and glitter, and different countries have different limitations, but in the US what I stated should suffice. |
