Question ► Brake Pads & Rotor Options

if you search for x1 brake pads & rotors, the options are very limited besides oem.

however, comparison of oem parts show same fitment on mini. if this is the case, there are many alternative pads & rotor options available from mini but i am unsure of fitment.

can anyone verify if the parts are indeed interchangeable with mini counter part?

I noticed this when looking up cold air intakes. The K&N one was for the mini but fit the X1.

Brake Sensor Reset Unsuccessful

I got a set of Akebono pads and can't reset the sensor light. Takes me through the process, then gives me a Reset Unsuccessful message. Do I need to short the sensor first as it states in other forums?

The brake sensors should be changed along with the pads, per BMW service manual. Links:

I wouldn't recommend reusing the existing brake sensors if you decide to go through with brake pad replacement.
