17” Winter set for X1 - a few questions
Our new 2018 X1 is the first car I purchased a winter wheel/tire package for since my 72 Dodge Charger. I am currently putting together a mini-spare kit and pulled the trigger on a set of
225/55R-17 BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK WS80 and 17X8 MONTE TITANO MT8 OVELLA HYPER SIL wheels- mounted and balanced from tirerack.com. Any opinions on that combo and is there anything special when swapping wheels on an x1 with centering, tps sensors etc. Thanks Rich |

I know this won't be of much use to USA based X1 (F48) owners but, here in the UK, BMW UK eBay store are currently showing new/unused Winter Wheels and tyres (205/60x17 93H Pirelli Winter Sotto Zero3 tyres) for the F48 at £233.75 each including delivery (£935 for a set of four, compared to usual price £1100). This deal includes a time restricted Black Friday 15% discount.

Hope you ordered the wheels with TPMS sensors..a little late to ask about that....if you did..it's a simple push of the I drive to reset the system once you have tires mounted and pressure set correctly. As far as centering goes...Mini uses same center bore as the F48 X1 so no problem. I assume your wheels will either have correct bore or supplier will give you centering rings to properly mount the wheels.. |

Carry snow chains as a back up. My tyres on the winter wheels are Pirelli. But I still have snow chains to fit just in case. And there’s a lot of Snow where we are heading off to in February !
