hi,
my new X1 1.8i/3 cyl/twin-turbo petrol has arrived, having previously owned an X1/ xline 2.0d there is a difference in performance however it depends on what kind of driving you do.
99% of my driving is in town so a powerfull diesel is not practical but the petrol car is.
Of course the actual size of the engine is 1.5/140bhp which to be honest is perfectly adequate for town and local driving trips.

MPG is not as good as diesel but it is not far behind,petrol is cheaper than diesel here.
There is no difference in the quality of the cars however my petrol car has a higher spec than my previous model which is good for me.
The handling of the car is the best in its class without doubt
