Run Flat tires noisy at 70 mph
Only had our x1 a week, but I was surprised at how much noise came from the run flat tires as speed increased to 70 on a fairly smooth Interstate. I've been planning on going to non-runflat tires and compact spare, which may need to be sooner. Test drive was not at that speed.

There have been hundreds of comments on run flats, almost all negative with the same experiences. Noisy, harsh ride, easily damaged (and sometimes also damaging alloys) and excess tyre wear. My experience has been the same, car has only 6.5k miles and already one puncture from a not so deep pothole. Tyres are very noisy and ride really harsh. Only positive is decent handling and cornering. When I change them like a number of other owners am ditching the fitted Bridgestone Turanzas and going for non run flat Dunlop Sport Max which have far softer ride, are 3db quieter, more fuel efficient and better in the wet. The only time the Bridgestone have benn anything like acceptable is on newly laid, perfectly smooth tarmac.
