Inaccurate speedometer
Hi, folks. I've been searching through the forums but haven't found a clear answer to my biggest frustration with my new 2022 X2 M35i: the speedometer (both analog and digital -- including the HUD) reads higher than the actual speed of the car by a few percent. I also had the same issue with my previous car, a 2008 R56 Cooper S. With that car I used a Scan Guage II to obtain the real speed via the OBDII port. What I really want to know is whether this speed offset can be adjusted or removed via BimmerCode or some other means.
Any ideas? |

it can theoretically be fixed by bimmercode. This is a known thing because there are huge fines to the manufacturer for reading too low a speed in Germany. I don't know about the EU. Mine reads a consistent 2 MPH faster so I mentally adjust. Did the same thing with my 2013 335 too.
Good luck, the car is a lot of fun to drive |

Many manufacturers over-read by up to 10 percent.
