They are also changing the US Forces plates there... Instead of AD (Armed-Force Deutschland) they will be giving them the actual city plate (like Stuttgart).

Oh so that's what AD is? What about HK or IF? I always thought those letters were used just because the were available.

IF is the new plate for all of the actual US Government Vehicles, where AD is used for POV's (personally owned vehicles). Finally, HK... I never did find out what HK stood for, but they use that plate on US speced cars that can't fit a long European plate in the bracket (like a big ass Ford F150).
