Is the AC good on really hot days?
I've not really had the chance to test my X2's AC after the car's been parked in over 30C days. For those who have had their cars parked in hot Texas summer days, or Australian summer days....does it cool down well?
I did note that on full Auto it doesn't blow very hard to cool down the car. I know there's Max AC, but I shouldn't need to activate that to get the fan at full speed....at least not on my previous BMWs.

I’ve had no problems in Georgia. I think 112 is the max I’ve seen after sitting in the sun. I never turn up over 2 on the fan speed and it’s blowing cold and cooling the car by the time I get off works access road.
I do like to crack the windows when first setting off to help the air changeover process. |

Yeah I keep it on 70 generally year round, ocassionally drop to 69 in summer and bump to 72 if freezing or below.
I never use max ac, always seems like all bark and no bite to me. |

We live in the Coachella Valley part time. We had a streak of over 120F for ten days last August with the high one day being 125F. No issues with the AC whatsoever aside from the loud fan noise trying to cool the motor. It takes a few minutes to cool the car down when you first get in but the AC then runs normally on the AUTO mode once the interior set point is reached.

Thanks guys. Does the fan go to full speed initially (to help the car cool down)? That doesn't seem to happen on mine (I have my 'intensity' button set to middle).
On other cars I've used with Climate Control, the interior fan goes to high speed and then drops when the cabin temp get closer to desired temp.

Mine goes to full speed and then slows down after a minute or so as the interior temperature drops.

Yes, it will crank pretty hard until cool. It doesn’t take long though

I find that the AC does just an ok job but it is very noisy. It is definitely not as good as the Lexus IS300 we had. On the really hot days, the fan speed stays very high for a long period of time. I also notice that the air flow from the front facing vents isnt huge. Ive temporarily blocked the middle upper dash vent to try to force more airflow from the front vents.... but it hasnt made a huge difference. |

Guthrie...yeah I remember the stinking hot old Perth summers...where it was still 30C at midnight
Do you use the 'Max AC' button? I think all that does it put it in recirc, full fan speed, and and minimum temp (16c)? cheers

I have a 2018 F30 and a 2016 X1 and have had no problems in our lovely nuclear summers in Louisiana. The vehicles cool down quickly after sitting in the hot sun on even the hottest (plus 100 degrees) days.
