occasional engine loud shake on stop

Hi all,

I own a BWM late 2018 x1 automatic. It has been a good car in the last two years. When I bought the car, very rare occasionally I notice the car has delayed response when I press the peddle, but this behaviour goes away..

But yesterday after about 1 hour drive, I parked my car. When turning off the engine, the car creating a very loud noise and shake the car badly. It sound like coming from the engine or clutch (it did feel like car crashed - that's how bad it was...)

I wonder if this is common, or is there an obvious fault from your experience?

(If it is an obvious issue related to a warrant part, I may consider taking it to the service) Your advise will help me avoid unnecessarily diagnostic fee which results to no problem identified..

Thanks for your help in advance!

Did the "check engine light" come on during that issue?

You mention in another thread that you’ve had an oil change. So, presumably, you mentioned this other issue to the servicing dealer?

Possibly pre-ignition? Engine continues to run on very roughly when turned off. You don't say whether diesel or petrol.

The fault was engine stabiliser link, the rubber gap was too big …. And also my flyingwheel also caused some viberation…. And Wastegate was replaced.

It's only less than 20k miles…

I'm glad it's under the warranty.
