West coast tour thoughts
My wife and our 10 year old lab just completed a working tour of the west coast.
We started in Seattle, stopped the first night in Grants Pass and then headed to Napa. From there we went to San Francisco, half moon bay, Palm Desert, Lake Tahoe then Bend and finally back to Seattle. The X1 was rock solid. The seats could be more comfortable but the cruise control and maintaining speed limit +10 was so easy in the car. I wanted to share the trip computer with this forum and encourage you all to travel long distances in the x1 if you had any reservations.

I'm always pleasantly surprised by the X1's fuel consumption (and BMW's B46 engine in general). If you drive highways and are mindful of it you can get the average well into the 30's. A huge improvement over the NA inline sixes of the past. My old 2007 328i used to struggle to average 30mpg on the highway even driving conservatively and around town it was in the high teens and low 20's.

I have to agree with you. I did a trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas and my BMW X1 handled it flawlessly. 573 miles of no problems. I heard that the X1’s engine is one of the most reliable from BMW.
