Have to say I didn't find the 569s too bad - all the black bits allow for being lazy. However the 560s I've got on now are a doddle to clean. I've had wheels in the past that meant getting down on your hands & knees with a toothbrush to clean. (Bring back hubcaps!).

Still not available in the U.S. I checked on Tuesday when I went by the dealership. They said they don't even have a notice yet that they are on the way. The dealership sent me a 20% off accessories coupon and I can't even use it.

Not yet, still waiting for my car to arrive but I'm hoping to install my dashcam as soon as I get it. Have bought one of those "add a circuit" fuse taps on eBay. There's plenty of fuse box diagrams for F30 but I'm also struggling to find info for the X1 and 2 Series AT which should be similar. Failing to install it to the fuse box, my plan would be to run an extension cable through the car to use the 12V outlet in the boot.

On my cars I always use an add-a-circuit and daisy chain this thing: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Car-Charge-DC...kAAOSwlV9WRqf2 and usually also a radar hardwire http://www.safe-n-sound1.com/Escort%...ct%20Cord.html To an accessory fuse. Just don't know which one that is on these cars. Here's my DIY for an E92 M3.. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=580236 If you're doing both dashcam and radar you can just spice both the USB connector and hardwire cord hot leads into the add a circuit hot output.

On the subject of accessories, I've just ordered a set of just the two rear all-weather rubber mats (p/n 51472365858) for my yet-to-be-built xDrive20i xLine. It's a UK model, so right-hand drive, and I wondered if anyone can confirm whether the rear mats are "handed" at all?? Looking back with a different parts site (RealOEM), I see that if I select a RHD car, that part number for the set of two rear mats doesn't show up; it only lists the full set of four. However if I select a LHD vehicle then it shows a much wider selection of front and rear mats, in different colour trims (red, silver etc.)
If anyone has the all-weather mats are you able to confirm if they are symmetrical, i.e. a mirror image of each other back-to-back, and so would fit in either a RHD or LHD car? I appreciate that there may be a logo on the side indicating an obvious installation side, but I am wondering if it's just a quirk of the parts site or whether there really is a difference in LHD and RHD rear mat shapes and sizes. Many thanks in advance! Last edited by CliveL; 06-16-2016 at 08:08 AM.. |

Thanks Simon, that would be really helpful if you are going in I'm hoping the mats will turn up towards the end of next week, so I might do the same depending on your findings tomorrow. Cheers!

...or, as they so often say in other forums on this site, should only be done to genuine ///M cars

My x1 is a 2015 build and unfortunately I don't have the aluminum sill cover in the boot. I saw that on a recent build and wonder if anyone tried to retrofit it. If so, how easy is it to replace the plastic one ? Part number ? Price? On my side I just got side sun shades for the kids, but didn't install them yet. |
