Honestly most of the "worse" ways to die I think are not as bad as the way many people actually die. Burning, drowning, eaten by shark etc all that is over in seconds or minutes and I would imagine at some point you might just black out. However there's some nasty diseases out there that will kill you slowly over years. I remember seeing a documentary or something a looooong time ago about some kid that was born with no skin or something like that. It was so horrific I still remember it to this day.

And that's a super rare one, but even the "normal" stuff like cancer sucks ass depending on the type.
Yeah, and death by cancer is called "natural causes."

I heard a doctor once say that if we lived long enough, everyone would die of cancer.

Come on and find a cure already. I know they're working on it.

From the web:
Quote:
There are no cures for any kinds of cancer, but there are treatments that may cure you. Many people are treated for cancer, live out the rest of their life, and die of other causes. Many others are treated for cancer and still die from it, although treatment may give them more time: even years or decades.

Being that I was almost killed in a motorcycle crash, that one doesn't scare me anymore.

But being burned alive, yeah that's the way I don't want to go.

I'm not sure drowning is that bad.

I almost drowned in a rip tide when I was 10 years old. I was very close to drowning. I still have the distinct memory / feeling of being completely at peace and no pain / suffering at all.

All of a sudden my dad was able to pull me out and it was like I snapped back to reality.

Also that recent earthquake with people trapped for days is pretty bad.

Im more scared of the mind torture than any actual physical pain which the body usually just goes into shock to block it.
Ya, the mind torture is the killer, similar to what I think is the worst (buried alive). While I was reading your article, I thought he was just a kid. Man, to be doing that stuff as an adult, I don't wanna blame the victim but that's pretty risky stuff, esp w a kid coming and a freak earthquake/flood would do you in.

This reminds me of when I was in grade 7 or 8 we went to a similar cave thing as a school outting, we split into groups and the 4 of us actually did get lost going quite deep. It's funny how crisis showed our different personalities even at that young age, 2 of us took charge, 1 was FREAKING out and the 4th was silent. Luckily, after a while, we heard the voices of our other classmates so figured out where to go. In a cave somewhere there was a spot where my buddy and I 'marked our territory' to commemorate the event haha.

How about death by boredom?

Could be a long and painful death.

PS - not referring to this thread. This thread is fun to me.

Well, yes, but some of us found fun things to do.

The Sand Cave incident might've been worse. The guy was trapped for 2 weeks. Not that being stuck upside down for 24 hours wouldn't suck either ...

I don’t even have to post and I already win this thread.

After having done several thousand autopsies I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe. And I’ve had to do things that I still can’t talk about, not just legally but emotionally. This job is rewarding but it can fuuuuuuuck with you mentally sometimes.

I can testify to that, having been sent home by the regional trauma center to die in 2016. Wish that the grim reaper would get here already!!!!!

Languishing in a convalescent home for 20 years, drooling, while listening to Mable's TV turned up to full volume.

So, was the ensuing death as a result of that action....or the stuff you cooked and made others eat?

My take is that if your chin is on your chest while you're drooling, they're probably not the ones you'd most like to have!
