Replacing rear 12volt with USB from newer models?
I was looking at the idea of instead of using a 12volt USB adaptor in the rear, to retrofit the newer built in USBC rear centre console part.
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_2910 Part 12 in the page above. Has anyone done this before? What other part do you need for the USB connectors? Can the 12volt cable plug into the USB ports in the update cover? |

I'll go out on a limb and say I doubt it. The newer socket has the USB data pins as well as voltage. But more importantly, USB is 5V while the socket is wired for 12V.
