Thanks for the post...I just turned 30K on my 335 and may opt to perform a transmission service @ 35K. I may ping you on directions on using ISTA as I also have the program but don't know how to use it.

Nothing to it, tbh. Don't really need to dig through ISTA, just check out the DIY thread that has the torque specs and the bolt pattern. Really is as simple as make sure you can access fill plug -> drain -> remove pan -> bolt up new pan -> follow torque instructions -> fill -> start car and go through P-R-M1-M2 10 sec each while continuing to fill -> torque fill plug.
It took literally an hour and a half, tops. -tgm |

ISTA is really easy and if you have it and the cable hook it up and try it. You can check for codes and see info about your car.

I set my ISTAD, ISTAP, ETK, and KSD within a Oracle VirtualBox virtual machine. The VM takes up about 260gb but could expand to 500gb. See: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1339348 |

It's far easier if you just set up a VM dedicated for ISTA. Also, you're never really sure about the source of such software and therefore not sure if it contains malware. Given that, it's safer to set it up in a VM so it doesn't affect your host machine directly. |
