X1 mixing flap error - no heat to driver side
Hi, has anyone had issues with their car only heating on the one side? I've had a non BMW mechanic plug into computer system and he says there is an error code for a mixing flap error.
Has anyone had this issue before, and how did you resolve and at what cost? Does anyone have any videos or photos on how to access this mixing flap? Thanks. |

Thanks for replying mate. I looked at these previously. The video doesn't show much other than what the flap looks like and what it does. I am after a video of its location and how to access it for removal.
thanks. |

you can access from the footwell air duct (we used a boroscope) to check the issue, but there's no way to replace it without removing the entire dash.
i spoke with a friend of mine @ stealership and we discussed about alternative way to fix it: by surgically cutting a portion of abs of the heater assembly (just below the flap motor ( by accessing from the inspection panel into the footwell) i could theorically be able to reach it and weld back the cam of the motor with epoxy, but is a really risky solution never tried before.. |
