I've always thought these SUV/coupe things have absolutely hideous proportions and this thing doesn't change my opinion. It's atrocious.

Mini X4M, I'm not sure how I feel about it, also the old X2 had an PHEV option, it won't return for this generation? Same with 3 cylinder engines? What?

Nice to know it's launching on my birth month though, can't wait to see them on the streets by then.

Current gen X2 only sold 35 units last quarter.

So they gotta be able to beat 35 units sold next Q3.

Imagine if they don't LMFAO

Considering how the first generation X2 was described as ''the car that doesn't know what it is'', I wonder how will this car be described when it goes on sale.

Only 2 button on dash/center stack? No volume dial or buttons for fan speed, temp, vent control, seat cooling/heating, etc.? Big negative for me. Not in the market for an X2, but don't like this trend with BMWs in general.

Haven't other manufacturers already gone through this exercise and figured out drivers like dedicated controls for commonly used functions? At least it doesn't have a split headlight design.

Rear visibility is already an issue with the coupe design; why would they make it worse with the too tall spoiler?

Can’t say there’s much about this I don’t like other than the 4-cylinder. Really like the exterior/interior design.

So this is what will be the last gas-powered X2 to ride off into the sunset, 10 years from now.

Interior looks good… though I don’t know why an X2 is getting M Sport seats… and quad tailpipes? Really? Even the M40is don’t have Quads (but from what I hear they are arriving on the 2025MY).
Exterior doesn’t look awesome, but I like it better than the previous generation which IMO wasn’t really a looker. I could probably count on 1 hand the amount of times I’ve seen it on the road.

Coupe SUVs have and (whether we like it or not) continue to be the new wave of impracticality. Look at Infinity & Buick which have all launched new coupe SUVs within the past year or two. I see lots more X4s by me and I’m sure this X2 will soon be popular because it’ll be a cheaper coupe-UV option than the X4.

Tail lights remind me of the Hyundai Tucson. Which is ironic because the previous gen Tucson and X2 looked similiar already.

It will sell more units than it has in the past years…. I still think the X1 redesign looks much better.

I normally wouldn’t mind it but there’s giving strict “M” car things to this car instead of the baby versions of the M cars, such as the M240, M340, M440, M550, M850, etc.
BMW's got a habit of doing this. M Technik packages for regular models in the 80s, E36 318s with M3 LTW/GT Class II bodykits, etc. The G20 M340i and G15 M850i could be optioned with M CF roof for a brief moment until this year... I sometimes wonder what the true reason was.

What we are seeing here is an answer to demand for high-performance UKL-based vehicles and despite BMW being capable of slapping an M badge even on yo mama's ass, they came to the conclusion that front-drive BMWs are still not worth the full M GmbH treatment. So the compromise is that they're gonna get four tail pipes and better brakes, but still not the clever diffs and other more hardcore suspension bits.

I just wish they would scrap the M Performance line altogether. It's added unnecessary confusion to the model line up, with people thinking an M340i is something much more sporty than a 340i just because of the little M on the boot lid. Though that's exactly why they've done it the first place...

Don't get excited about this, hundreds of discussions about this. BMW sees a potential in offering look-a-like M cars with a 1.5 3cyl in it and that's the reason they do this. Dilution of the brand? Apparently not their concern at all, the sales figures keep evolving north. Besides Audi and MB are putting S/RS and AMG badges on every car they have also lately.

HVAC is all in iDrive, yes.

There are drive mode buttons and volume dial on the center console/armrest.

The center console appears to have no hidden storage. Instead all your stuff remains visible in that lower area. Why? Who wants this dumbass setup?

I'm confused, is there a regular 340i that still exists somewhere that's causing this confusion? Because otherwise the M340i is one hell of a sporty car, especially for not being the ugly top of the totem pole.

Just like how Porsche offers an absurd amount of variants of the 911, I'm all for more versions of cars, including M performance, it means there's a car to suit everyone's needs.

Looking for a positive- Driving Assistance Pro with Traffic Jam Assistant in this price class is probably the highlight for me. About the only other thing I really like is the top braking system employs gray calipers instead of the usual flashy red or blue.

"People" with purses that want somewhere to put their purse quickly and easily and then be able to grab + go just as quickly and easily.

You need to be more open minded to the demographic they're targeting. It is an X2 after all, not an X5MC !
