Just fitted EBC Redstuff pads allround..........

Massive improvement in stopping power over the standard pads...............

Highly recommended

Got a set for all 4 wheels on ebay from LK Performance for £165 inc postage

Yellowstuff are the next ones up - but they say they need some time to "warm" up............... OK if all you do is drive on track - but i don't!!

This was my next decision.........but I've heard so many conflicting opinions that I'm more confused than when I started.
So, my question for you (OP) is this:
Do the RedStuff pads give you the OEM quietness and stopping power BUT with less dust? Becaue I find the OEM pads fine for both of the above but very dusty.......

What I want is a quiet, low dust pad with OEM stopping performance. I don't care about track-stylie fade 'cos I'm never going near a track.

Views?

Mike.

Nothing wrong with M3 brakes IMO, not unless you're on a race track.

That's a good price for a full set - was that with the sensors too? I had Redstuff on a previous car, I loved them. As soon as these pads need changing I'll definitely be going down that route again.

They don't need any time to warm up.
From cold they are exactly as per oem.
Hit them hard and they are about 50% better

I run them after destroying the reds at Combe.
They are okay on the road though.

The current Yellow compound is getting excellent reviews from pretty much everyone who tries it at the moment, all saying the same thing - as good as OEM from cold, even better when warm.

They do need to be bedded in properly though, and they aren't as low dust as the Reds.

For how I drive, Redstuff suit me better.

Well, I have run both red and yellow and oem in the last 12m.

And I have tracked them, and used them on other cars.

I don't know your dealers 'real world' experience.

But I could tell NO difference between red and yellow when cold.

They are R90 rated for road use (unusual for a fast road / sport pad) so they have to have a decent degree of cold coefficient of friction to qualify.

But on a >1600KG and 400hp car the redstuff wont cut it on the mountain roads.

Just looking on EBC Brakes Direct, the list the Redstuff as the OE replacement for my 330d, Yellows are the upgrade.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll consider yellows then.

Looking at either the reds or yellow when i replace the pads on the 335d

One thing i'm keen to know is, how long before they fade?

I find the OEM quite happy to fade after only a short drive. Other than that the OEM's are good all rounders and last AGES.
