KW HAS installed on my M3 xDrive
Just picked it up, I have the xDrive Comp. KW HAS kit (same as the one for the rear wheel drive). I think the height is good, ride quality... well, I can't really tell the different but mentally I think it is a little stiffer, if any.
What do you think of the look? |

Ride height depends on how aggressive of a driver you are, as well as if you drive with passengers or not - you are able to adjust as you see fit. Typically, we like a 1 finger gap in between the tire and bottom of fender as seem below:
Do you have spacers installed? It looks like you can push the front wheels out slightly to give it a slightly more aggressive stance.

Looks really nice. I also bought the KW HAS already and waiting for the car to arrive. Is this the lowest setting for both front and rear?

As for the setting, I think you are right and yours has a good look... I will ask to raise a little when I go back for adjustment and alignment in a week or so. Thanks! |

I think if your roads are good -- then that drop coupled with the amazing G8X dampers are great. The beauty of HAS is the adjustability but I like your drop and the fact that you took closer pics to show true optics.
Another thing is that you have Pirellis which creates a "look" of a lower car because of the sidewall thickness. I took my MSS HAS off the car with Pirellis and left the settings static and moved it to my X drive. The PS4's show an ever so slight gap thats more that the PZero tires. So your rear may appear just slightly lower:

Quick question for the ones who have lowered their car 30mm or more.
Is there still enough stroke for the dampers, or are they often running into the limiter? |

Sounds good. I'm usually a "complete coilovers or nothing" guy, but I heard so much about the supposedly very good dampers on the G80, that i might go for springs only.

Its definitely a 180 vs the likes of my F82 car... the compression and rebound absorption with the springs works really well. I dont find that the car chatters on the road as I push via speed in straights or turns.

Regarding ride quality, it is by far they best I have gotten with any spring only setup and better than most of my KW v3 setups. It is funny because I still brace/cringe when I see a pot hole or uneven pavement ahead, but the car just eats it up with ZERO harshness. BMW absolutely nailed the shock tunes. |

I can't wait to install mine!
How would you guys explain it to the mechanic if I wanted a 1 finger gap front & rear? I want to try to get it right the first time

Just tell them you want a 1-finger gap of space in between bottom of fender and tire. Or print them the picture linked above as an example.

A good installer will know the procedure, just let them know how you want the car to sit.

Thanks! I made an appointment with a shop that has done many adjustable suspension setups and we agreed that we'd get them dialed in as close as possible the first time and then I'll come back for alignment after some miles and they will adjust again as needed
