I have actually turned a few women into car people while they dated me & after we broke up.

The last one has a Fiat 124 & she now puts it in car shows...it just has wheels & the GFB BPV that I installed. Hardly a car show worthy vehicle, but whatever.

Pfff...that's nothing. I turned a half-dozen of my girlfriends into lesbians.

That's pathetic. Did the suction ever give you an ear ache? Loosen any fillings?

I had one who had a 1-tooth bridge that would fall out from time to time. Was trying to take her home from the club and top off her tank for her but the bridge had fallen out while we were making out in a booth, and we had to search the floor under the booth - at closing time, in the dark, with the bouncer bitching at us to hurry up - to find that goddamned tooth. It was worth it, though.
What the fuck did I just read..

Cars are one way. Back when I was single and in really good shape, I traveled a lot with my friend to fitness expos/contests as he had contracts to show up.

Being at a booth and wearing a tank top.....I was pulling women that lsturbointeg always talks about drooling over at his gym in the other thread.

But then again....these women were there to watch or even compete in the bikini division, so I guess we shared a common interest.

Sort of like what you hear about that goes on in Olympic camps when you put all those people that share a similiar interest in one place.

Whippersnappers! They have no idea how easy they have it. Maybe we should revert back to that technology to regain a foothold on our youth!

Maybe. Did you stick your pinky finger into one of the reel hubs and turn it, to take the slack out of the tape? We used to do that as a precaution, so the next time you put it in a tape deck the slack tape didn't get grabbed by the capstan roller or something and the tape got "eaten." If you did that, then you're definitely in. Otherwise...we'll see.

Same here.. .and I remember breaking the knob and then we had a pair of channel-locks permanently attached to the stem so that we could change channels!

Can you imagine the bill they could run up at the going rate of $0.85/minute for airtime back in the day...plus the ground call charge!

I had a Globalstar satellite phone for six years a while back, and that was $1.49/minute to use with something like 30 free minutes per month. (My DW was doing field work in some pretty remote areas, and I would have gladly paid $25.29/minute if she needed help!) It was fun to use from cruise ships at sea, when using the on-board satellite cellular link was over $2.00/minute.

In the 1990's, we had a Skycell geostationary satellite phone in the One Lap of America car, as a sponsorship deal since we were running a huge press campaign from the road for a worthy cause. That phone had its own 800 number, and the going rate for satellite time was $2.49/minute. Fun times making calls from the desert with that thing.

What? No WHT on channel 68? How did you get your daily Uncle Floyd fix?

Although now moving into the realm of the old farts thread, I actually wrote a state grant when I was in high school back in the late 1970's to buy four blank VHS tapes for the school...at their 1970's retail price of $49.99 each!!!!!
