Just put in an order

Hi guys the wifey and I took a few motors out for test rides and decided on the X1 2.0d xdrive Sportline in Mineral Grey as the car to replace our 2014 Qashqai. We intend to keep the car for at least 5 years so decided to kit it out how we want and this is what is on order in terms of options...

Z0A Driver comfort package which includes:
508 Park Distance Control (PDC), front and rear
544 Cruise control with brake function
563 Extended Interior Light Package
5DP Park Assist

Z0J Technology package which includes:
322 Comfort Access
3AG Reversing Assist camera
674 Harman Kardon - Hi-Fi

ZNQ BMW Navigation Plus package which includes:
610 Head-up Display
6AM Real Time Traffic Information
6AN Concierge Service
6AP Remote Services
6UP BMW Navigation Plus

248 Steering wheel heating
2TB Sport automatic transmission
313 Elec Fold Exterior Mirrors
420 Sun protection glass
431 Rear-view mirror, auto dimming
488 Lumbar support, driver and front pass.
494 Seat heating, front
4LU High-gloss black interior trim with Pearl chrome
finisher
5A4 Adaptive LED Headlights
5AS Driving Assistant
775 Headlining, Anthracite

Managed to get a 10% discount on the car so am happy with our choice but need to wait until March 1st. Have a lot on till then so time will fly by

Look forward to reading up on the forums many posts to see what I can learn.

Tony

Great news and awesome spec Tony !

I have a X1 Sport on order also with most of those options bar drive assist, rear auto dim and lumbar. Was agonising over the colour...mineral grey was a very very close second to the mineral white I selected.

Due Dec / Jan

Thank grud I followed the great advice in this forum and ticked the box for heated seats and wheel. It's brass monkeys out there this morning!

Congrats.

What made you go for a fully specced Sport instead of xLine (with LED and leather seats included)?

I've not seen the new prices. But I remember if you added leather seats to Sport, it would've ended up being more expensive than xLine with similar options.

Nice build sheet. I like the Sport line plus Mineral Gray looks great in the X1.

Not a fan of leather seats myself and I prefer the overall look of the Sport trim and wheels. Nothing wrong with the looks of the xLine at all and it is just personnel preference

Not long for you to wait now! I went from black to white to grey

Had heated seats and steering wheel in a 2010 Corsa years back and promised myself when I get a 2.0 auto beemer it would have em.

Are you planning on doing anything to the wheels to protect from road salt?

It's a fair question.

For me it was a really daft thing - I fell in love with the look of the black gloss interior with coral red trim and the black leather seats with red stitching which is not available in the M sport model.

From an exterior perspective I find the M has a heavier visual design - the black edging along the side on the Sport makes the car look a bit leaner - and also the under trim is body coloured so it looks like a very deliberate design point.

Very subjective I know.

Not really considered it! Live in the UK - London so not really something I've ever done before or even thought of.

What are the issues with not protecting? / How do you protect?

Apparently diamond cut wheels are not road salt friendly from what I read.

Is this a private purchase? I mean your own car rather than company or lease purchase where you just hand it back?

I ask, because 90%+ of used buyers, when you come to sell, will want and expect leather seats in this type of car. Even though my wife's two previous A3's had cloth seats I persuaded her to try the sport leather seats (with seat heating of course) and she was won over by them.

Leather also has the advantage of being easier to clean, doesn't absorb spilt drinks, food, etc., looks classier, but can be stickier to bare legs in the summer (with no air-con) and cold in the winter (with no heated seats).

Your choice, just my opinion but after 10 BMWs, some early ones with cloth, I'd always go leather heated now.

Own car we intend to keep a good many years so not really bothered in regards to resale. Neither of us like leather seats to be honest but appreciate the advice. Had a 520,325,120d and 118d in the past all with cloth seats and as there is just us 2 the seats always looked clean
