Watched Saw X last night with some friends, and shockingly it was actually very good. I've only seen the original Saw Movies up to Saw 3D (never saw the 2017 or 2021 reboot), and thought the first one was good, with every subsequent movie getting worse, but with a very high Rotten Tomatoes score we decided to see what they've done differently. Like all Saw movies there are some plot holes and questions, but overall its one of (if not the best) Saw movies with an interesting plot, some gruesome traps (one that caused one of our friends to leave early) as well as the excellent Tobin Bell being featured more than before.

Interesting. I feel like it's been a huge money grab since several parts back.
But I'm a sucker for horror. Thanks for the input.
If you have a chance Stein, watch No One Will Save You.

They definitely became money grabs, even though each and every film was making less and less money, but honestly this one just felt much different, and it felt a lot more high budget and better written.

Like one interesting thing is other than one scene in the beginning before the title card, the movie actually takes its time to get to the blood and guts. The game doesn't actually start till about 30-45mins in, they were much more focused on giving Kramer a story here. I also didn't see the trailer so I was much more engrossed into the movie.

And the fact that its now 2020's versus the early 2000's when the last Saw movies I watched were made means the gore is insanely more detailed and gross than before. I have to say, the first kill of the game is definitely the nastiest and one of the most stomach churning scenes I've seen, that's where one of my friends and someone else in the audience left.

I'll have to add No One Will Save You to my list, the only thing with horror is I really have to be in the mood/mind set to watch it.

Good to know. As far as No One Will Save You, it's more SciFi suspense than actual horror. It's not gory. I'm actually not a big fan of gore. I prefer tense, jump scares and creature features then say watching someone getting chainsawed.

Awake (2007). A surgery results in complications. Go in blind, it's good.

Looking forward to seeing that.

Almost started the new Equalizer last night but decided to wait until it's cheaper, or free.

No, I haven't unlocked my Fire Stick. I'm afraid I'll get in trouble. Dumb, huh?

It’s not even unlocking to be honest. You just go to an App Store and download the applications. It’s not a process in the same degree as jailbreaking an Apple device, for example. You’re also not downloading the movies and shows; you’re streaming off someone else’s server. Set your worries aside and join us.

OK, thanks for the info. I’ll look into it.

Watched Gran Turismo. The movie surprised me. I still like Need for Speed as a better movie-game. I guess it is Forza's turn, maybe some sort of Forza Horizon festival movie

It's about time we had a movie thread! Recently, I watched "Dune" and was blown away by the visuals and storytelling. I am looking forward to "The French Dispatch" next. Movies are a great way to escape and explore new worlds, especially the best movies this year. What's on your watchlist?

Huh? The movie thread's only been around since 2018.

Watched "The Big Lebowski" the other night for the umpteenth time. The Coen bros best film IMO.

"Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man."
