210c01 LIN BSD message alternator missing

2018 X1 79k miles, original battery, no CEL on dash, had a very slight hesitation on cold start but no hesitation later in the day..
scanned the car and got this code: 210c01 LIN BSD message alternator missing (erased it but code comes back)
any ideas or if you have experienced this, could use some help - thanks!

If still on the original battery I would get that tested , get weird faults with a dodgy battery.
