Suspension noise advice
Recently moved from stock dampers and eibach springs to kw v3s.
Previously no noise or complaints other than the crashy feel. Install went well no issues things were cleaned up and new bolts were used where required. The ride height is within a few mm of the old setup. I'm intermittently over some bumps getting a loud knock normally on a sharp bump and I'm stuck for ideas on what it can be. All bolts were rechecked nothing seems out of place or untoward. I would get it if there was a constant knock and it would be easier to pin down but this is only over certain harsher bumps. I get it is a bit of a guessing game but any tips on common causes would be appreciated. |

Sounds like the the thread isn't all the way into the upper bearing thus even though you've torqued the top nut correct, there's still a little play between the top nut and the bearing/Guide support.

Still trying to resolve this issue, since posting the front dampers was sent off for a service and have come back refreshed but they found no major issues. while they were away the standard dampers and Eibach springs were added back to the front and the sound went away.
Now the kw's are back on the front the noise is still present and leaving me a bit stumped. Videos of the noise are below. any guesses appreciated. https://youtube.com/shorts/mUk366XelnE?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/44GTQohna4w?feature=share |
