Is it something that is temporary / can be changed? We all have bad days. I know one guy tried to quit twice at work because he was passed over for making partner about 5 times. Each time his coach and a few other partners managed to convince him to stay (he was a really good asset). Sure enough, he did make partner, but I'm sure it felt to him like it was unfair prior to that.

I wish I could. Even spoke about it to other colleagues, and they didn't even realize the complex situation I'm in where I just can't do anything.

No - it will only get worse. Our chairman described it as "we used to be Seals/Snipers, and we had to become infantry, now we have to become troops". It feels like we're back in basic training and having to wipe the noses of the n00bs. Well, I'm still a sniper. I just want to shoot the dumbfucks.

I can't operate at this slow pace. Something I would have identified, fixed, and rolled into production inside 30 minutes will take at least 30 days now, and I just have to watch production fail in the mean time. I hate it.

I may try to get away for a day or too in the coming weeks - and this will sound terrible - I'm just waiting for at least one of my toys not to be in the shop so I can really enjoy it

No Costco around here. What are the main differences between the two?

We don't have Sam's club around here, but I always thought it was basically Walmart writ large. So to answer your question then - quality of people. That's the main difference.

I say this as a person who is starting to shop at Walmart a little more due to the moronically high prices at Zehrs / Loblaws. They can go get bent. Sadly though, I've developed an affinity for PC branded things which is only sold at Zehrs / Loblaws. So I might have to pick up a few things from time to time there...but the majority of the grocery shop is going to be walmart probably.

As someone noted, it's a part of Walmart so the clientele if you will tend to be a bit lower class than what you see at Costco. That's not really a fair comparison however. The main reason why I have a member ship at Sam's Club is convenience. There are many locations for both stores. I have found that Sam's has a great selection of meats, including Prime grade steaks that are very reasonably priced and of excellent quality. I've also discovered that they package stuff like meats and offer smaller portions. For example, a pack of 2 prime steaks as opposed to being forced to buy 4 steaks or more. I have two people in my home so I don't need to shop for a large family where it makes more sense to buy everything in bulk.

There is some crossover of brands but they are mostly different. They have their own original brand (Costco = Kirkland signature / Sam's Club = Members Mark). On any given period of time, both companies have sales on different products. On the most part I have found the quality is generally the same though I tend to lean towards Costco more. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with Costco for quality, reliability and general level of cleanliness and the typical customer base. But it's only 50 bucks for the yearly membership so I figured I don't mind having both.

One other point is if you're traveling somewhere in the US, you'll find either a Costco or a Sam's Club, not often both if you're in a small town. It's nice to have access to both of them if desired.

EDIT: One big difference is cleanliness or at least consistency in the stores being clean. I have never been to any Costco store that was not very clean and organized. That is a huge plus for Costco in my book. Also, and as funny as it sounds is the availability of shopping carts. I've been to some Sam's locations where they don't have shopping carts and you end up having to hunt one down in the parking lot. Speaking of shopping carts, I have rarely had one at Costco that had a busted wheel or made noise while using it whereas at a Sam's there's probably a 50/50 chance the cart is on its last leg (wheel?). Pretty shitty maintenance of their shopping cart fleet. Lol.

I tried shopping at Walmart for groceries years ago. I really did. I just couldn't continue. A big reason was there produce which wasn't so hot. Do you find you have to de-louse after you're done shopping there?

I'm not a fan to be honest, and it always makes me a little uncomfortable thinking they've all been handling what I plan to eat, but my wife washes/cooks everything thoroughly so it generally makes me feel ok.

I just make sure I'm washing my hands really well after getting home.

Me: Do you like chipotle?

My 9-year-old: it makes me fart and gives me diarrhea.
