How about how's it running? Making over 2.5 psi over stock? What fuel are you running? I just purchased a jb+ for now.

Yes the car is running perfectly fine as if I didn't do a thing. According to the logs, yes it's targeting about 2.5psi peak over stock. I'm running 93 octane which is our super here in MA. Logs seem perfectly normal... if I ever figure out how to take everything apart and get to the electronic wastegate control, then we may be able to push it a little further and a little more stable. On the JB+ I don't know how you adjust it.. but my tip is... on the custom map it's only "+1" which means on your JB+ you should probably keep it pretty low on the bump up. I just looked it up and it seems it's set lowest for 1.75 psi which might actually be too much. I'm actually not sure what it would do, since when the JB4 gets out of range it will fail safe mode to map 8? I would probably get yourself an OBDII logger at minimum to see what's going on. Logging is a little tougher though since I'm not sure what programs are out there to do that. (Which is why I got the jb4 to do all the logging in addition).

So are you seeing close to 25 psi?

Actually I would say it peaks out at 27.5 psi but settles down to about 25.5 psi for 5000rpm and upwards.. I'm thinking that what Terry is saying about the wastegate actuator he might mean with better control it would be more stable and longer.

Of course it could also simply be the turbo is running out of steam.

I can help you get to that connection, I work on these cars daily (BMW Tech) it's actually not that difficult. Lmk if you need a little guidance.

Sure, I'll PM you. I did look at it on newTIS but it didn't seem exactly right.. and I haven't had the energy to take it all apart again.

I got my JB+ in. It's on the lowest setting so far. Already knocked a tenth off. In 90 degree weather and 3700+ DA still hit a 4.6 0-60.

Did you by any chance log the car to see how much peak boost it's outputting with the JB+? If you're hitting the 27.5 psi range, then this is definitely the easier and cheaper way for the m35i owners than the JB4.

So you have seen 25# as your max prior to tuning? I’ve only seen 22.

When I first got the car and was looking at it with the obdii it seemed like 22.8psi. However once jb4 was in and I could make complete logs, it shows a spike and 25psi and dropping slowly in the rpm range. I am going with the jb4 logs to say that the tune added 2.5 psi over what was recorded on my baseline.

I did not log but using the factory boost gauge (sport displays) it's past the 25# mark.

That's awesome.. then for most I think the JB+ would be the way to go for now unless you guys want to datalog the car. I'll get to the EWG some day and see if it helps anymore.

Little update on the JB+ end. I decided to say fuck it and cranked the dial to the max. Glanced at the boost gauge and saw damn near 30lbs. Will have to do another draggy test soon when the weather is better.

In for any updates..boredom is setting in, and I'm weighing one of these vs. Dinan vs Dinan Elite vs. Racechip GTS. Incidentally, for those on the fence about a pedalbox or its equivalent, went on a drive last weekend with a friend of mine who has one in his Cayman S. It's a 2007 and he bought it used WITH the PB installed, and has had the car for 6 years now with no issues whatsoever. FWIW.
