I purchased the car brand new in 2016 model.

But I only just realized, it doesn't have a log book.

Now I am dubious, whether they've lost it whilst servicing, or it never came with one.

Can someone with a X1 confirm this?

May vary by market but I did not get one with my new X1 bought in Dec 2017 in U.K
I was told it is all electronic these days, and any registered/approved BMW dealers/service centre can see full car history through BMW online systems.

Owner's manual supplied but no log book with my MY16 either, and MJE60 is correct re all the history is online with BMW now.

Probably a general BMW thing, mine also being short of a service record book (as was my previous Audi). In the UK, plus probably any country where the record is computerised, you can ask for a print of the service history from the dealer service department. I had that every time the Audi was serviced and would expect the same when I take my X1 to have oil changes etc.
