F48 20D xDrive - hesitation (resolved)

Just thought I would post regarding a recent issue.

My daily, 2016 (66 Reg) F48 20D xDrive had over the past 4-5 weeks developed a hesitation/judder at about 1500RPM which at first I put down to a transmission issue. Car was booked into my local dealership for investigation and it was identified that the EGR valve and O2 sensor needed replacing.

EGR and o2 sensor fitted and returned the same day. The car runs so much better with an extra 2-3MPG which is an added bonus.

Thanks for the info. What was mileage of car when you first noticed the problem and with benefit of hindsight can you identify mileage when fuel economy dropped? I know this is a very common problem with this family of BMW Diesel engines. I had an earlier version of the engine in a freelander td4, I removed the EGR completely and the inside was practically blocked with tar. IMHO, it is not a matter of if but when they fail.
Thanks again, a useful reminder.

First noticed the issue around 15k miles, was resolved at 18k miles. MPG at the time the issue became apparent was circa 42MPG.
