I have the xline ordinary seats in Canberra beige sensatec.
Although they feel great they have started getting brownish... So easy to look dirty!
Thankfully I will put some towel-like covers over the front seats for the summer (necessary in Greece with all the sun, sand and salt from the beaches) and in October I will have them cleaned and protected professionally. (should have opted for a dark colored interior)
As for the comfort of them, well I have to admit that in their plain form (no lumbar support etc) they are quite less comfortable and supportive than the ones I had in my 2014 Nissan Qashqai (the QQ seats were designed with the help of NASA).

I've wondered the same thing. The regular seats seem to be the weakest part of the new gen X1. When doing some research prior to buying ours a majority of the reviews mentioned them, and not favorably. I've adjusted to them and they are OK but when driving I'm reminded that they could have a better shape and not so fimr.

I'm confused. Im 1m87cm with long legs, yet i find the seats comfy. They don't annoy me at all.

sit in the X1 with std seas, then sit in another BMW with standard seats, you will feel the difference.

Even the sport seats are a bit odd. The seat back has very deep bolsters but the seat bottom is very flat. It doesn't stop me from being comfortable, the bolsters are really more important for the torso rather than the butt. It just takes some getting used to.

I'm spoiled by the e46 sport seats.

Part of the issue, relative to any of the BMW sedans, is that you?re sitting higher ? more ?on? the seat than in it. Over 18mths, I?ve adjusted my seat position quite a few times to accommodate the higher position. Trial-and-error.

100% agree. The sport seats in my 2004 330ci convertible (e46) are great, as are the ones in my F25 X3. When my wife ordered her X1 we hadnt even sat in the sport seats, just ordered them knowing they had to be better than the standard ones. I think they're ok - not great. Get out of those and into the X3 and it's night and day. Just takes some getting used to.
