Execuhitch will offer their Invisihitch for the X1 in 2-3 months according to the sales rep I spoke to. According to them, "[We] cannot give you the tow rating but if you look up the European tow rating, we will build a hitch that will accommodate that rating."

They are not offered to be deliverd from the factory for the US market, but can't they order it as a spare part? Or u order it yourself from Europe?
It allready exists and I pressume it is more safe to use the original from BMW... If u need pictures how it looks like let me know. |

If you have pictures that would be much appreciated! Thanks FWIW, I suspect the Invisihitch is pretty safe. We have a huge number of lawyers in the USA (in the millions), and if it wasn't safe I'm sure Execuhitch would have been sued out of business years ago.

Haha Shiny, I can imagine about the lawyers.. I looked at the movie and it looks weird, or perhaps all the american tow hitches look like this
I will make a picture next week, I haven't used the tow hitch yet. The hitch is still in the boot. |

I looked into the factory fit bar but unfortunately only 7 pins in the 13 pin plug are wired and they will charge UK buyers another £300 - 400 to get it fully operational . It's a good thing I have an excellent local tow bar specialist to fit a Westfalia bar with full electrics for the same price as a factory one.

I'm getting a little impatient. I have emailed execuhitch (invisihitch) 3 times and they've said that it'll be ready in the next month in march, april, and may. The sad part is, they're the only one that provides that hitch style as far as i'm aware.

I purchased the "Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch 13303 for BMW X1" and attached the " Yakima TwoTimer Hitch Bike Rack" no complaints here!
Looks pretty good too I must add! Last edited by Quantumn; 05-26-2016 at 12:35 PM.. |

I'm not a tower so have no idea about tow hooks/hitches, but have got a question.
Is there a pin or something that disconnects the PDC/Rear parking sensors? Just curious. |

No pin to disable those features but I pull a trailer quite a bit and the hitch nor the trailer set off my sensors. The camera does make lining the ball and the trailer up very easy as well as backing the trailer. The one thing I am not wild about is that several times while I was installing the receiver into the hitch, the tailgate foot sensor tripped and opened the tailgate. Good thing it beeps first!

Please report back how it goes, thanks. Am considering the same for my X1 M Sport. 3500 lb tow rating is pretty nice!
