How many psi do you have on your tires?
I have my 2018 f48 28i for abt a year now. I have 32 psi on all tires. Most of the time my front right side tires was hitting hard when ever I drive over a small or big port hole even at a slow speed. It's very annoying to feel that. The impact was very hard follow by the banging sound. I always check my tire pressure. I have stock Goodyear eagle sport RFT tires. Last week I make all tires to 34psi and the ride quality is improved and the bang is not that hard now. I want to know if it's only me or any of you experience similar effect.

32 psi all 4 corners. I stay within 32 to 33 psi all year around as I personally dont see a reason to go beyond the factory recommended level.
I also hear/feel a loud thunk when going over speed bumps even slightly faster than I probably should. I've read in other threads that some owners of our generation have had lower wishbone arm/bushings go bad, causing a similar noise while taking speed bumps at a somewhat fast speed. |

I started at 32 all around but wasn't happy with the way it felt a bit soft when cornering. Bumping it up to 36/32 F/R (similar to what's recommended for the X1 in overseas markets) brought a noticeable improvement. No sign yet (6200 km) of any unusual noise when going over bumps, though.

I go with 33 all around in Summer and 34 all around in Winter, so as to average out lower when tires gradually lose air over time. Winter starts higher because pressure can drop with temperature fluctations due to cold snaps in my area.

Whatever the values are in the door jamb. Those Goodyear RFT's is where the harshness is coming from, IMO

I agree with you 100 %. To me those are the worst tire I ever have. When I see any uneven surface on the road I kind of expecting and ready for the jerk or hard bounce off feeling.

Another possibility is a leaky Schrader valve. To rule this out, spray some soapy water on the valve stem after removing the valve cap. If you see any bubbles form at all, you have a leaky valve. However, a quick change in temperature (on average, you'll lose 1 psi per 10° Fahrenheit drop) + not airing up your tires for even a month or two could result in what looks like drastic tire pressure loss. You should closely inspect the problematic wheel and tire for any obvious punctures. The bent rim issues I've had is usually on the inner side, so you should look closely on the inner side. |

I find that using my foot pump (or a rechargeable electronic inflator I carry in the car for emergencies), it's too easy to release air when unscrewing from the tyre valve and the pressure drops quite a lot. Otherwise the only time I notice any real difference, and only by 1 or 2 psi, is when there are outside temperature variations. Otherwise I keep mine to the pressures on the door jam label. |

If the tyre is checked after inflation with a good accurate tyre pressure gauge it would eliminate air pressure drop after disconnecting airline.

Well, the funny thing is that all the tires are loosing pressure equally . To be honest, it did become a lot colder in my country last month, so it might be the weather. I'll observe them this month as well, and if they drop again I'll take the car for inspection.

A temperature drop of 10°F will reduce tyre pressure by about 1psi (Sorry — I started to do the °C : Bar conversion, but it did my head in!)

One reason you don't do tyre pressures on a sunny day with one side of car in bright sunshine and the other in the shade. There can be a few psi difference.

For my X1 I follow the door suggestions for the installed run flats. I also have a 340 and I do a 36 lb square, which for the front adds 4 extra pounds. This was suggested by BMW to avoid the excessive wear that occurred on the first set of tires. Set 2 looks to have almost double the life span.
