Your order was placed in July and you have not yet received it?!
Now I'm really worried. My order is from early October and they told me I would have it till the end of the year. Guess not.

Hopefully planning to put in my order this week. It will be interesting to see what sort of time frame I get given.

I think perhaps it is our batch of cars that got delayed. I ordered mine on the 16th July and am now told it will be delivered week 51 (so week beginning 14th, but the dealer needs 2 days to prep etc). Should hopefully pick it up just before Christmas.

This seems to be a batch of cars that were produced and then parked up waiting for the lights to come through from the manufacturer. I don't believe it has had an impact on more recent orders.

Still trying to work out what compensation is appropriate for a car being delivered 2 months late. What are your thoughts?

did75 - I have a car on loan from BMW at the moment, although it did take me writing to the CEO of BMW to make that happen, it wasn't something that they came to me with prior to me escalating my frustrations.

I will be asking them to either extend the warranty or cover the servicing costs for the frist three years which is one of the paid options that I have added to the car.

Should be picking up the car just before Christmat - maybe I'll have them gift wrap it and call it the wife's present!

Same here. Nothing would have happened if I did not escalate the issue to BMW France where I threatened to cancel the order. That kind of made things move forward ;-)

I took delivery of mine today. Dealer told me the the shortage was due to some dashboard trim combination. Mine is piano black with chrome accent. Not yet time for a full review, but first kilometers were very nice, car is up to key expectations if not more. ACC is great by the way!

Congrats!

Would enjoy seeing pics of the piano black w/ chrome if you have the time, thx. Hard to tell precisely what it'll look like judging solely by the online configurator.

Well placed my order on on 14th Nov, a pre existing order from the dealer was Hijacked, got news today that the vehicle was built 27th Nov, and the dealer is expecting it for delivery to me before the end of this month.
An early Christmas present for me would be great, can not wait now to get behind the wheel of my 2.0d Xline in white with black leather, Nav Plus, Sports seats, Sun Protection Glazing and a few other extra's.

Getting quite excited now as we will be ordering Mrs W's tomorrow. We have been lucky enough to have a F48 loaner for the last 3 weeks and it has completely won us over. Will be so good to get one to our own spec.

This means the build date doesn't represent the real build conclusion?
The car had to wait several weeks for the parts missing but the build date was already commited and didn't change although not being correct anymore?

I have checked my vin no. on the decoder which shows the production date. Is there somewhere else to look to see if it's been shipped or is this information the dealer gave you?

You can track your vehicle by creating a My BMW account via the BMW website (add your production or vin number under vehicles), or call 1-800-831-1117 and follow the prompts. I personally had better luck and more accurate information using the 1-800 number.

If your car was shipped using Wallenius&Wilhelmsen you can go to the following link, click "track", and in the "cargo ID" field enter your full VIN. This will give you the vessel name and expected date of arrival at your port destination.

Here is a link to great article that covers all aspects of tracking your BMW from production to delivery.

Looks like they are coming through now as I saw 2 on a transporter heading towards the dealer in Milton Keynes this morning.

Will you ask them to register the car in Januray so as to have a 2016 registered car rather than a 2015 registered car?

I know it makes no difference in the UK to the actual plate but I wonder if it makes a small difference when it comes to resale prices.

Written on my New Vehicle Contract is:-
"Deal agreed based on the car being registered and delivered in December 2015"
So even if mine arrived on 31st December it will be registered straight away.
The dealer wants it for their 2015 sales targets. If the car doesn't arrive until January then it is down to the dealer and I benefit by getting a 2016 car (although actual plate won't change). I think it does make a small difference to the resale value but then I did get a discount on the new price.
