Wow that sucks. So is there another tool that can code it after the update? I'm ok ditching Carly for something else, but I really hate the stupid stop/start turning itself back on at startup.

Bimmercode should still work per OP.

Did you use Carly or bimmercode or something else?

I opened a ticket with Carly support. I'm assuming they are aware of this, but we will see.

Let us know what you hear from them. I had entered one a couple months back after my ECU was 'upgraded' and I lost my ability to override start/stop. They said something to the effect of don't upgrade the ecu unless necessary. Not a great answer. Would be good to know if they are even going to attempt to fix it.

Sorry. I haven't been too active on here lately.
My update was 34 81 20 and done at the end of November 2020. I was able to remove Start/Stop with Bimmercode.

Here is the response from Carly. Not particularly encouraging.

Hello,

the latest BMW F and G models are our number one priority at the moment, because of the high demand. We do support most of the new software, but some of the versions of the new ECU's are still in the development phase.
Soon we will support the same functions like bimmer code and even more.

We are currently testing the first new Codings inside our BETA app. Would like to join our BETA group for testing our latest functions?

Additionally, the technical complexity of a function plays a major role. If a function requires a higher effort and testing, then it will take longer until we can offer this function to our customers.

Please understand that we can not reply with a timeline and possible realization, because sometimes it can happen that we finish the development of a certain feature earlier than expected, but also it can happen that the implementation of a feature is prolonged.

Have a nice day!

Best regards

-

Update from Carly

...

All the functions from the BETA should be available in our normal app within the next few weeks.
Then these functions should be supported again for most ECU version.

Yes, good news. It sounds to me like there are significant module changes that basically broke Carly's approach to coding. This is very different from BMW locking out the ability to code, as was implied in an earlier post.
