Strange engine sound (2.0 diesel)

Hello everyone!

I need your help.

My engine sounds very strange lately and I would like to compare if the same engine (if you have 2.0 diesel) makes the same noise.

What do you mean by strange? I have been running diesels the majority of my BMW ownership and previous to that with VAG. I listened to it several times and to me it sounds normal bar perhaps a small amount of chain noise when you lift off the throttle. Is that what concerns you?

Yes my X1 2017 25d is also is also a bit noisy. I get the idea that all of these engines sound more tractor like than say for example Audi 2 litre diesel.

I would be interested to know from other people about this ?

You mean there was a low pitch resonance apart from the engine?

Is that come from the right hand side if the engine?
Ever did you try to press the intake pipe (near the air filter box) when engine is running? To see if the noise goes off...

I had it and solved Abit. But I think there should be another reason because I hear that when I was driving above 80km/h
