Boeing introduced the first composite airliner in 2009, Airbus in 2013. Those are Aviation pioneers , i don't see Mr Airbus in this picture. |

You might literally be the only person who believes that. How's that A380 doing? I think they are producing a whole 0.75 A380s/month. What a shock...no one wants to go to hubs for connections.

Boeing just won a lawsuit against Airbus over illegal EU massive subsidies. With huge subsidies from the EU, Airbus objective was to take Boeing out of business, selling planes at a loss. They failed. Instead of the EU concentrating on Greece, Portugal etc. their deficit, Their citizens pay higher taxes, they waste it on Airbus, amongst other things. |

Lets not start to pull more one-armed-bandits than necessary. I'd started with Airbus in the very early 80s on an A300 and had former done some F/E trainings on a 707 and also on the 727. At that time Airbus has had the more future related aircrafts and Boeing had wasted a lot of time with old fashioned things until the 777 came out. Sometimes you make your decision and Im an Airbus man since then. Thats means not Im a Boeing hater, but sometimes they got us scratching our heads and ask "how could they"? Whats would come very interesting is the thing, how your new prez would handle the "homemade things", I mean if he forces your airlines to stop all Airbus orders and lay strictly onto Boeing?

You want to talk about who built the best commercial airplanes, without a doubt Donald Douglas was the best (and I'm not including anything after they merged with McDonnell which includes the DC-10). Their planes were ridiculously overbuilt and a large amount of them are still flying to this day (see DC-3). If Northwest Airlines was still around, I wouldn't have been surprised if they were still flying the DC-9. The big joke at Northwest was that when they retired their last Airbus, they would fly back from the desert on a DC-9.

The 787 is an amazing plane that had a problem in the beginning, like many new designs. They are well past it. I'm speaking about the viability and demand/profitability of the aircraft. The 787 is absolutely destroying the A380 and the 777X will finish the job. Airlines clearly want 787s...you seen the orders? The A380 is already seen as a failure. It has made 200 deliveries with another ~100 that may or may not all be filled and they are down to <1 plane/month. This is reality. The 787 has already made 500 deliveries with another 700 on order today. The 787 is more versatile, efficient, and more comfortable. The A380 is an amazing plane, but it's not profitable and airlines don't like running them. It was a stupid concept that Boeing released research saying wouldn't work and they were right. Boeing abandoned the "super jumbo" concept and went with a direct to destination approach because it's what people want. Passengers don't want to travel to hubs and change planes to get to their final destination, period. |

Yes the 787 ran into problems with the Lithium ion batteries but that's bc they were first and helped perfect it for Airbus to use. |
