F1 Fans, Pastor Maldonando is out at Renault!!!!

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
As reported over in Motorsport.com, Pastor Maldonado has lost his seat at Renault due to sponsors failing to pay up what they were behind on with Maldonado's sponsorship payments. Kevin Magnussen, Former McLaren driver, will be the guy replacing him after rumors kicked into high gear last week that his team had met with Renault about the possibility of driving for the team or a reserve role.

More info at Motorsport.com in the F1 section.

Below is a short excerpt from Pastor confirming that he will not be racing in 2016.

"Today with the biggest humility I inform you that I won't be on the grid at the start of the 2016 season. Thanks for all the messages of support, passion and concerns about my future.

"I'm very thankful to God, my family, my sponsors, my friends, my fans and everybody who has helped me materialize this dream of having represented Venezuela in the pinnacle of motorsport."

..he typed that response while texting, was distracted and bounced off the retaining wall, careened back onto the roadway and took out 3 other vehicles.

Haha. Crashtor will have to find something else to wreck. Now if grosjean could disappear from the grid also. Shocked Haas hired him.

Only when leaving does Pastor Crashonado show some humility. Those crashes were never his fault,... really!

I read a few years ago when he was with Williams that, the Venezuelan national oil company (PDVSA) was paying something like 24 million for his seat.

Well, at least he is a GP winner.
You might say he's done better than guys like Brundle and Heidfeld.

Yeah........he has one win. That was the Spanish GP in 2012.

Although Nick Heidfeld has no wins, he was able to step on the podium a total of 13 times. Something Maldonado did only once.

I'm definitely not a Pastor fanboy. But his antics were fun in an otherwise very sterile era of f1.

And still, he probably is a much better driver than anyone of us here at Bimmerpost.

This.

I am not a fan of Crashtor but came to respect him because he never gave up and almost never had anything negative to say as the world press and most motor racing fans cast him as a pantomime villain.

He definitely had lots of incidents that were his fault and also managed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time quite often as well but there is one thing that no one can take away from him...He is an F1 Race Winner. Add up the number of people that started F1 races without a podium, let alone a win and it will put it into perspective.

Further, Crashtor's win came on Sir Frank's birthday...pretty cool.

Cheers-mk

I won't argue that one. Except the crashing part.
