Is there anybody out there with an F48 which has the factory Reversing Assist Camera (feature 3AG, part of Tech Pack 1) and also the factory Bike Rack Preparation (feature 3AR) which they use with a bike carrier with lights?

If so, when you have the bike carrier lights plugged in and engage reverse, does the camera still come on or is it disabled? The Owners Handbook says "When the trailer socket is in use, some Driver Assistance Systems are unavailable, or available to a limited extent". It would be good to know if anyone can say specifically about the camera.

Our F48 doesn't have Bike Rack Preparation (Covid has changed our priorities since we specced the car!) which must be one of the best value options in the price list. I am considering an after-market installation of what I think is probably the same Brink hardware and electrical setup as the factory fits, and just want to bottom out this possible issue. I have a friend (trader) who fits OEM or Kenwood front and rear parking cameras to any manufactures car. I had front and rear fitted to my now sold Audi Q5 S-Line.

Thanks Peter, I obviously haven't been clear. Our car has front and rear parking sensors and the rear camera. I was trying to find out if the camera still works if you have the factory Bike Rack Preparation, plug in the bike carrier lights and engage reverse.

You mean Covid has changed our priorities since we received the car?

I have specced our car (2020 BMW X1 xDrive 20i MSport) and it is awaiting build at the Regensberg Plant in Germany.

You can see why there is confusion from my side. Perhaps if you get no definitive answer, ring BMW UK Product support. I rang them several times when I had my X3 MSport 30d. They are very helpful.
