BMW Navigation below average
I just purchased a used X1 with the smaller screen and was shocked to find that the navigation was unusable. It doesn't even show distance to next turn or upcoming turns. It is all voice based. Am I missing something or has BMW dumbed down their navigation this much?

You can have the distance to junction if you select the auto zoom with info option map view. This is the map view I use. Also a selection in the nav options for showing junction details (not with the car so can't check exactly but it's an option in the nav settings). Haven't really tested this but it comes up with a more detailed view of the junction even if you're on another screen like media for example.
Hope this helps

I think that happens on the older idrive cars but not the newer ones. I think the distance to next turn is only shown on the additional info map. Stand to be corrected though.
Do you have the touch screen?
