I wish the M235GC wasn't so...
unpleasant on the eyes...(I didn't call it ugly).
Watched a couple of reviews of the car with our drivetrain in it and it is quick, 4.4 to 60, and it will get better mpg than we get - maybe significantly with the better aerodynamics and lower weight, and I really like the size of it...but good lord it is funky looking.. |

I like it. Probably replace my wife's '18 X1 with this next year

I don't mind it, except for the rear view. I stopped buying sedans more than 20 years ago (nothing but hatches, wagons or CUVs since), so wouldn't replace our X1 with one, but could be tempted if this was available in a Touring version as a sleek wagon or shooting brake.

I saw it in person over the weekend at the dealer.. it doesn't look bad at all. Felt nicely proportioned.. more like the e36/43 size. I really was looking at 2 series before my bad back incident. I felt a little strain getting into the seat.. looks like I'm destined for the SUV height forever

It's not bad at all in person, really. But it's a JCW Clubman in Bimmer clothing, so it is tiny AF inside. I was checking out a Storm Bay Grey one at the dealer yesterday while taking delivery. Pictures really don't do it justice.

I'd rather this than the JCW...I think Mini's infotainment is laughable. Honestly, if they weren't so annoyingly quirky, I'd go for the mini.
On the looks of the GC, I think the rear is it's critical failing. Looks like a lowered X4 |

It was between the X2 and a JCW Countryman for me, which I loved in person, but didn't really enjoy the drive with DDC. The JCW Clubman was a helluva fun drive, but it was too small; same with the GC. But if it's just you and maybe an SO and no kids, it's a great car.
