Exclamation LCI Facelift F48 / F49 X1

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Found these facelift F49 photos from China, no doubt F48 for the rest of us will have pretty much the same design.

Is it only me or our pre-facelift really looks better?

Why do they insist on giving every BMW a massive front grille nowadays? it looks shite.

I quite like the rear light clusters, but the rest of the car looked better before!

I don’t see anything in the cosmetics that will affect residual value of current model.

Audi did the same. Horrible grill.

No change in engines. Biggest change will probably be the digital instrument cluster, which might actually come as standard (as BMWs competitors are all doing it). I actually prefer the analogue one, so I don't care much about the facelift.

New grill looks nice tho, makes the car look bigger.

I do actually. The grill is the most distinguishable BMW feature and they are aligning the X1 with the rest of the lineup, with size and shape. This will make the current model seem "old".

Also, although I don't understand this, people nowadays seem to insist a lot on digital instruments. This will also push the value of the facelift a lot.

Must be honest I like retro looking analogue instruments like the old motors. Coupled with a walnut dashboard, they just add class. Just an age thing with me.

Me too, plus they add timelessness to cars. These digital clusters will probably look ridiculous in 10 years, when technologies have developed.

However, exterior-wise the facelift looks great though, we must be honest and unbiased.

The grill could be worse and I guess a black grill will always help.

I am also looking forward to the interior.

Can't wait to see what the interior looks like. Hopefully we get some details soon, since we had that big information dump the other day about the other summer refreshes. Torn between this and the new Audi q3, which isn't out yet. A few minor tweaks on the x1 will make the Audi a non factor. (Also their dealership by me were jerks and he bmw guys were awesome... don't want to give jerks my business lol)

I found this on a German web site (https://www.autozeitung.de/bmw-x1-fa...7.html?image=2). I certainly hope for a smaller screen. I hate those huge things.

Apparently there will come a 10.25" option for the screen according to this posted BMW news about the X2 summer update: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...or-summer-2019

"BMW X2: LED headlights now standard, additional light-alloy wheels, optional M Sport braking system.

The BMW X2 will come as standard from July 2019 with LED headlights with extended features. Their adaptive light distribution ensures optimum road illumination in urban areas, when turning off a road and through corners. LED front foglamps will also be part of standard specification for the compact Sports Activity Coupe. Options will include five new light-alloy wheels in 18- and 19-inch formats and two new upholstery variants.

The M Sport braking system fitted as standard on the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) will now be available as an option for all other variants of the BMW X2. The Navigation option will now include an 8.8 inch Control Display with touchscreen functionality in place of the previous 6.5-inch version. And if the Navigation Plus option is specified, the display will have a screen diagonal of 10.25 inches."

Can't imagine that it will not come in the X1.

I don't understand how this aged interior will compete with something like Mercedes B-Class. X1/2's interior is a big dealbreaker.

This interior was a joke even when this X1 debuted..now its borderline ridiculous.

The exterior however has some nice changes..makes it look like a baby X5..for what they had to work with, id say they did a good job.
