I would appreciate any information that can be given about putting a roof top tent on 2019 X1 - correct rail system, static roof load limit, any particular tent that works best?

Per my 2018 owner's manual, approved roof load capacity is 165 lbs/75 kg. Overall approved load (cargo + people) is 899 lbs/408 kg.

I personally wouldn't put a roof top tent on the X1, especially if you have a sun roof. However, other members may be able to recommend a universal roof top tent that may work.
